Comparing 2 Idents
My reason for choosing the BBC Two ident was not mainly because it was my own but because it had a history behind it; Flash Gordon & the Zoetrope.
- Futuristic (Out of this world entertainment)
- A mixture to the past and future.
The BBC 2 advert is for all orientations but mainly male dominated whereas the Flash gordon one was mainly for olders or young adults who were educated about the zoetrope and such or were just fascinated!

{OK, before I get a lot of criticism for this being awkwardly shit.. It's okay. This is just a draft. Criticize away!
FADE IN: into The bar, Conor, Georgina, Jordan & Friends sitting down, drinking, smoking and talking.
Music gets played.
[Newspaper girl (Oyinkan) walks into the bar] : free newspaper! anybody like some or should I just leave right now?
- gestures from the group ordering newspaper girl to bring the newspaper.
"So I've heard that there's some serious crime going on in this little town.. it scares me. Some human being is going round and-
Conor: -Just give us the papers. *clenches jaw*
[Georgina, Jordan eye each other awkwardly]
- newspaper girl leaves.
- CONOR, GEORGINA, JORDAN READ NEWSPAPER-
C: Wow, so finally something is going on in our little city.
G: I know, rather shocking I must say.
J: *nods head*
C: Um, *looks at watch* well guys, I've got to start heading. Have to meet some business partners.
G: business partners? At 10:30pm? *strange look*
C: What's with the face? Business partners don't have closing times on when they shouldn't talk about business. business is always in my head! Got to start heading *takes the last sip of his glass, taps Jordan* see you guys tomorrow! -walks off and out of the bar-
G: guess i better start going too.. It's getting late and I've got an early start tomorrow.
J: Alright, I'm gonna stay for a few, grab a few numbers off these girls & then I'm gonna leave. Get home safely!
G: -puts jacket on & starts to leave- Will do! You too!

Self evaluation

I think with this channel ident I didn't manage my time very well but it was acceptable.
I managed my time effectiveley with the story boards, mind maps but I didn't manage myself effectively with the actual animation.
There have been times when crew members didn't attend classes which limited some time towards the animation. But I'd rate them a 3 mainly because whenever we are together we get on with our works ASAP and hardly waste time.
I fulfilled my role perfectley if I must say so myself. I did the mind maps, storyboards all on time. I'd give myself a rating of 5.
The animation answered the creative brief mainly because it's colourful with colours of the college which explains the ident and its purpose towards it.
The target audience for this ident is mainly for students, visitors, prospective students and teachers. To improve this ident it could have actually been recorded instead of it being multiple images one after the other. The original idents theme was "College of Balloons" including the logo colours. The idea and story behind it was to have the colours of the college logo on balloons floating around college whilst we take you on a tour around.
What aspects of the brieft did you manage to fulfill?
I managed to actually create a channel ident and put it all in one piece, I managed to do the mind maps and storyboards.
What areas of the project didn't work well? In future what you differently?
The areas that didn't work well was the actual production. We didn't manage to do what we intended on doing in time so we had to do a quick ident. Lack of time messed us up.
What areas of the project are you most proud of?
