Gumbasia.

Gumbasia is a a 3 minute 10 second short film produced in 1953 and released on September 2, 1955. It was the first cut out animation produced by Mr Clokey followed by many others. It was a parody of Disney's Fantasia, using stop-motion clay figures. Gumbasia led to funding for his first 'Gumby' film.
There would have been a lot of stop motion frames for this, it must have taken a long time and a lot of patience. I like the idea of something that looks like it’s happening merely being false and not happening at all. In this case, it’s the clay appearing likes it’s moving, when really it isn’t and the old school effects are awesome !
