Music video.

MUSIC VIDEOS.
Music videos help to keep the artist or band in the public eye for a few months after the release of their album/single leaving them in the public eye for as long as possible depending on the viewers view.
The purpose of the music video is to also sell the song visually, to give the audience a better understanding of the song (IF music video is narrative) and it's also a promotional tool. There are also three different types of music videos: performance, narrative and concept based. There are music videos that show the artist/band doing a live performance, a narrative one tells a story and a concept based music video

Our main task was to create our own music video. So my group and I first though of visuals. I picked out videos like ADHD by Kendrick Lamar (00:54-1:07, 1:36-1:48) and Urban Outfitters by Vinny Cha$e (the intro) to help us out with our music video seeing as we wanted it to come out looking like an actual professional video and I listen to both of them artists regularly so I picked out the bits that I liked the most and wrote it all down so the members in my team could view it and decide. We then had a hard time thinking of songs. But we eventually managed to pick one that ended up to be the best. Our group started with 4 members, Conor, Georgina, Jordan and Myself and ended with Conor, Georgina & I because of some problem happening outside of our group (nothing to do with any of us) so a group had to be fixed. It was a concept based music video. It was mainly about having fun, it wasn't narrative as much but if you do listen to the lyrics it does say "I'm the liquorice b*tch" whereas everyone knows liquorices are black.. and in the video there are two black girls. So that makes some sense. We all added some ideas into the finished product so it wasn't just one persons idea. Teamwork was great. Location was picked by randomly, we ended up in Oxford Circus and it was rather busy so I took my group down to Soho. A quiet area filled with strange people who haven't gone home since the night before but that's cool, we didn't cause/get into trouble that day! We filmed and made a few interesting conversations with some drunkards, even got to film a pair having a go at each other.
I hope we get some good feedback ! :)
